"Family Photos 2008"
The Sandwich Women's Club is currently taking appointments for their annual Family Photos fundraiser. Have your photo taken by professional photographers from "Photo Art Cape Cod" at the Sandwich Town Neck Beach. A $50 sitting fee includes one 8 x 10 photo. Numerous packages including holiday cards are available at an additional cost. Appointment dates are available for one weekend only- Saturday, September 20th and Sunday, September 21st from 10:00 am thru 4:00 pm. "Touch-A-Truck 2008" (past event)
The H.T. Wing School in Sandwich was the venue for a fun-filled day for more than 1,000 kids and their adult companions at The Sandwich Women’s Club’s 9th Annual Touch-A-Truck fundraiser last Sunday, June 1st. Everyone had a great time and hands-on fun with over 30 unique vehicles and trucks from a fire engine to a construction excavator. Both kids and grown-ups were lined-up to sit at the helm of some of the most awesome and amazing machines around. “We were fortunate to have so many local businesses and town employees donate their vehicles and time this year.” said Sherill Dykeman, the Touch-A-Truck committee chairperson for the Sandwich Women’s Club, “Because of their generosity, this year’s event was the biggest and most profitable Touch-A-Truck ever.” The children’s favorite moment appeared to be the “candy drop”. Many arrived armed with bags, scoops, and nets, to collect the treats dropped from a passing airplane. The U.S. Coast Guard “Jay Hawk” helicopter also made an appearance and stirred up excitement, and a bit of dust, as it hovered over the field next to the event. All proceeds from our fundraisers benefit the charities of the Sandwich Women's Club including Safe Harbor Women's Shelter, Sandwich Food Pantry, The Council on Aging, The Baby Center, Sandwich Public Schools and Libraries and many more!!!
